My journey in early childhood education started back in 2014 after having two children of my own following a long career in hospitality. In my role as a diploma qualified early childhood educator - I progressed from educator, to lead educator to 2IC- and then onto a director of a busy child care centre, I have gained the trust and support of the 25 educators and 79 children a day. My family has recently relocated to Malanda, living on a 55 acre farm -looking for a lifestyle change. I want to give children an experience and childhood we all wish our children to have – giving children a sense of belong with wide open spaces to play, with fresh farm air to breath- a sense of being by engaging with the animals on the farm, learning to treat our environment with respect, and gain meaning of their world whilst becoming an active member of society.
Individual children should be valued & each child’s strength, interest, skills, abilities, and knowledge extended upon. Children have the freedom to explore & gain a sense of the world around them. Central to my pedagogy is that children lead their own learning, I facilitate their learning through providing them with a rich stimulating environment and experiences.
